Marty is no stranger to hard work and dedication, having spent 24yrs with the NZ Navy, including Secondments Peacekeeping with the UN. He then moved to Marlborough 20 years ago, purchasing Thymebank (a hydroponic lettuce and herb business), which he went on to grow to a nationally recognised and Trusted Brand, prior to selling the business. He believes that hard work and dedication were the key ingredients to his success. Marty is also an active sportsperson, having represented New Zealand in age group Triathlon and Ironman as a younger man, he has now proved that age is no barrier having again qualified for the Hawaii Ironman World Championships again this year, 30 years since first competing there. Marty is actively involved in establishing and growing Water Polo in the province, which has seen Marlborough teams achieve national honors. He is now transferring his experience and work ethic to growing and strengthening the Harcourts team. Marty believes relationships are the cornerstone to any business transaction. “It’s not necessarily about selling, it’s more about forming relationships, adding value and establishing trust. If someone wants to see me for advice, they don’t have to be selling anything, we can just catch up for a cuppa and a chat”.
Buying an average house is easy, there sure are a fair few "specs" for sale. But... when location and style are important in your decision making for purchasing a home, things can become more complicated. Location continues to be a strong driver of property value and in Marlborough, the Springlands suburb certainly is a "standout". Locality aside, this superbly private home is equipped to answer all the demands of modern living for families, retirees or busy professionals - with schools, shops and cafes close to hand, it will tick important boxes for many. Effortlessly elegant in every respect with classic style and attention to detail, the spacious home is configured with a very large internal access garage, four big bedrooms (the master providing a true retreat with ensuite and walk in robe) and large open plan living/dining opening out to the private and peaceful courtyard deck.
As one would expect in a property of this calibre, off-street parking is provided, the home is double glazed, it has several heating options, a super functional kitchen with wide benchtops creating the perfect "chat hub", copious amount of storage and a separate utility room. This fabulous floorplan really works with great flow, natural light and a sense of opulence. The family have now purchased and have no desire to own two homes, call the exclusive agents Lorraine Barrett or Martyn Birch for an ebook outlaying details for this superb property.
